Background to the project

In the case of Lumos AutoLED, the aim of the project was not simply a design refresh, but to build a more purposeful online shop that would also perform better from a business perspective. The starting point was an existing online shop that was operating without a strategy, failing to provide a clear direction for either visitors or communication. The focus of our collaboration was to ensure that the online shop would finally respond to the needs of its actual target audience, and that this would be reflected in its structure, copywriting and sales logic.

The design approach and the chosen solutions

The project was based on defining the target audience more precisely and developing a communication strategy tailored to them. The new structure of the online shop was no longer based on gut feelings but on informed decisions: a simple, transparent and easy-to-understand structure was created to help visitors find their way around and naturally encourage them to make a purchase. The visual style, content strategy and advertising communications were all aligned with this new approach. In addition, sales and customer service solutions were integrated into the system, making it easier for customers to seek assistance whilst also enabling more efficient operations on the administrative side.

The current situation and the main challenges

One of the biggest problems with the previous online shop was that it lacked a clear structure. Decisions were largely based on gut feeling, which did not deliver the expected results in the long term. Although customers were attracted through Facebook adverts and organic posts, the system as a whole was not predictable enough and failed to capitalise on its inherent potential. The main challenge, therefore, was to ensure that the online shop was not only more visually appealing, but also communicated more clearly, guided visitors more effectively, and provided a more stable commercial foundation for growth.

Key tasks completed during implementation

During the project, we first clarified the target audience and the communication approach that would be genuinely understandable and appealing to them. Building on this, we redesigned the entire structure of the online shop to make it simpler, more logical and more conducive to making purchases. The visual design also supported this aim: a cleaner, more transparent interface was created, making it easier to navigate the product range. In addition, systems were put in place to help customers seek assistance more quickly, whilst also reducing some of the administrative burden. Advertising communications were also built around the new target audience and new messages, meaning that the online shop and the campaigns finally reinforced one another.

Results of the completed website

The end result was an online shop that is much more predictable, clearer and better at communicating its message, and which responds more effectively to the expectations of its target audience. As a result of the new structure and the revised strategy, the number of orders has increased, whilst the average basket value has also risen, enabling a gradual scaling up of advertising spend. The online shop has not only been strengthened in terms of its appearance, but also in its functionality: it is easier to use, better supports the purchasing decision, and provides a more stable foundation for further growth.
